Winnifred P. McGuire, 88, of Mineral City, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Country Club Retirement Community. 

 

Born to the late Boyd and Thelma Cox Strawn on June 23, 1935.  She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Donald Moreland; three brothers and four sisters.

 

After many years of service at Tuscarawas County Child Support Services, Winnifred retired in 1995. Winnifred was known for her kind and caring nature towards her family and her beloved dog. She always made sure that her family felt loved and appreciated, often spending time with them and taking pleasure in their company.

 

Apart from being a dedicated employee at Tuscarawas County Child Support Services, Winnifred's family was her primary priority. As a mother of three daughters - Terri (Ron) Carpenter of Dennison, Cynde McLaughlin of Magnolia and Karen (Dave) McRobie of Dover - she instilled within them values that will continue to serve as a foundation for generations to come.

 

She is also survived by her husband of 37 years, William "Bill" McGuire whom she married on October 4, 1985. In addition to her husband and daughters, Winnifred is survived by one brother, Ron (Charlotte) Strawn of Arizona; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 28th starting at 11:00 am in the Leavittsville Cemetery at Sherrodsville with Rabbi David Komerofsky officiating.  The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling arrangements.
