Born April 4, 1954, in Pontiac, Michigan, he was a son of the late Carl E. Hambleton and Betty M. (Berry) Hambleton Shutt. Bill moved with his family at a young age to Ohio where he grew up and graduated from Dover High School. Bill's first job was at the old brickyard on Red Hill, Dover; he was a hard-worker, having been employed in the construction industry most of his life.
Survivors include his sister, Sharlee (Mike) Bowersock of Dover; his brothers, John (Carrie) Hambleton of Wainwright, Bruce (Kay) Hambleton of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Bryan (Sarah) Hambleton of New Philadelphia; many nieces and nephews, including Richard Hambleton and (great-nephew) Jordan Freed, with whom Bill was very close.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Hambleton, and by his step-father, Joseph Shutt Jr.
Honoring Bill's wishes, he has been cremated, and his cremated remains will be buried in a private family ceremony in Strasburg's Grandview Union Cemetery. To sign an online guestbook and share a fond memory of Bill, please visit the Obituaries and Flowers link on the Toland-Herzig website.
