Thomas M. Goodall

Thomas M. Goodall, 76, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital following complications from pancreatic surgery.

Born on January 12, 1950, in Dover, Tom was the son of the late Gene and Eileen Zanetti Goodall. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Christine Goodall; his grandson, Nathan Stein; and his former wife, Sherry Goodall.

Tom retired in 2016 from Parkway Nissan in Dover after 15 years as a dedicated salesman. Following retirement, he pursued his lifelong passion for golf, working at Black Gold Golf Course in Sugarcreek for eight years before retiring a second time in 2025. A man of faith and community, he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia and a life member of the New Philadelphia Elks. He cherished golfing, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Smith Goodall, whom he married on October 7, 2008; his children, Melissa Jeffery (companion Doug McClain) of South Carolina, Matt (Laura) Goodall of New Philadelphia, Ryan (Kristin) Goodall of Dover, Ted (Tammy) Harrison of Port Washington, Amy Schaad of New Philadelphia, and Jennifer (Brandon) Truex of Gnadenhutten; his brother, James Goodall of Dover; 15 grandchildren, Logan, Connor, Gavin, Aleah, Ziola, Tala, Kali (Collier), Kassi, Kylee, Pierce, Cayden, Preston, Zac (Kristen), Ashton, and Grayson; two great-grandchildren, Everly and Tommy; and one great-grandchild expected later this year.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 13th starting at 10:00 am in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia with Fr. Jeff Coning officiating.  Interment of the ashes will be in the Sacred Heart Calvery Cemetry at New Philadelphia.  Following the burial a luncheon will be held at the church.
