Terry L. Menges

Terry L. Menges, 75, of Dover, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover.

Born on March 8, 1951, in Dover, he was a son of the late Adrian Menges and Melda Welsch Menges McAnulty. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Menges; his stepfather, Dwight McAnulty; and grandparents, Paul and Pleasant Welsch.

A 1969 graduate of Tusky Valley High School, Terry earned his bachelor’s degree in 1973 from West Liberty State College, where he played quarterback for the football team. He began his career as a history teacher at Tusky Valley High School and served as assistant football coach under his mentor, Larry Foltz. He also coached golf and taught driver’s education. In 1977, he transitioned into insurance and joined the Hanhart Agency in Dover in 1985. He remained there for 34 years until his retirement in 2019. Even in retirement, Terry stayed active by sharing his lifelong passion for history as a tour guide at the Warther Museum. He cherished time with his family, especially supporting his grandchildren in their sporting events and school activities. He also enjoyed reading, golfing, and anything related to history.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy Bair Menges, whom he married on February 14, 1976; his children, Tammy (Rod) Kopp of Dover and Jamie (Terri) Menges of Dublin; his grandchildren, Madison Kopp (fiancé Noah Love), Ethan Kopp, Kayla (Scott) Shook, Evan Menges, and Caitlyn Menges; two great-grandchildren, Nash and Knox; and his beloved grand-dog, Bella.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover, with Pastor David Wing officiating. Interment will follow at Dover Burial Park.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
