Tammy Jo Kerby

September 15, 1958 — January 28, 2024

Beach City, Ohio

Tammy Jo Kerby, 65, of Beach City, entered eternal rest on January 28, 2024, in Beach City, Ohio. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 15, 1958, in Dover, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Edsel Dillon and Nancy St. John. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edsel Timothy Dillon; her aunt, Robin Tice; and her step-father, Frank Fisher.

She was a graduate of Dover High School with the class of 1977. Tammy led a remarkable life that touched the hearts of many. She devoted herself to caring for others as a home health aide, bringing comfort and compassion to those she served. Of all her clients, one held a special place in her heart - Walter. Tammy cherished the time she spent with him and cared for him as if he were family.

What truly defined Tammy was her role as an adoptive mother to many. She embraced the joys and challenges of motherhood with open arms and showered her children and their friends with love and support throughout their lives. The selflessness and unwavering care she consistently displayed will forever be remembered.
Outside of her caregiving responsibilities, Tammy found solace in various hobbies and interests that brought joy to her life. She had an adventurous spirit and loved the exhilaration of riding Harley Davidsons on open roads. Dancing was another passion that allowed her to express herself freely while embracing the rhythm of life. Music flowed through her veins like a heartbeat, providing comfort during both happy and challenging times.

On July 21, 1979, she married Dwight Kerby, who survives. She also leaves behind her children; Timothy "Tim" Kerby of Brewster, Marisa Kerby (Georgi Slavov) of Beach City; her beloved grandchildren, Jaeden and Evelyn Kerby of Brewster; her sister, Megan (Keith) Bailey of Canal Fulton; her step-mother, Diana Moorhead; her nieces and nephews, Kayla Brooks, Jon Dillon, Robert "Bob" Dillon, Dillon Bailey, and Natalie Bailey; along with her canine companion, Lucy, who could always be found next to her.
