Susan M. "Sue" Patrick

Susan M. “Sue” Patrick, age 57, of Dover, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House, New Philadelphia, surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 6, 1967, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Grover and Marjorie (Snyder) Ellwood. Sue graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1985, and worked in the restaurant industry much of her life, often making her way to a management position. Among her places of employment were Elby's, Bob Evans, Bogey’s, Blazin’ Burgers and Burger King. Sue married Michael G. “Mike” Patrick, who survives, on April 26, 1997. In the past, Sue liked helping Mike with his D.J. business on weekends. She also enjoyed reading and going boating on the nearby lakes. 

In addition to her husband, Mike, Sue is survived by her children, Crystal (James) Schupp of Bolivar, Derek (Jessica Rice) Swaldo of Dover, and Cierra (Devyn Etling) Patrick of Columbus; her grandchildren, Bentley and Adalynn Schupp, Christopher Swaldo and Kaylee Shoup; her sisters, Elizabeth Weinhardt, Linda (Roger) Swiney and Carol Wilson; and her nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Courtney Patrick.

Honoring Sue’s wishes, she will be cremated. Friends are invited to call, visit with the family, share memories and pay their respects on Monday, July 8, 5 - 7 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover.
