Sue (Lab) Huff

Sue (Lab) Huff, age 79, a lifelong resident of Dover, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021, in Dover’s New Dawn Healthcare Center.

Born December 29, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Jerome and Pauline (Krantz) Lab. Sue graduated from St. Joseph High School in Dover, and on September 14, 1963, married Gerald B. “Jerry” Huff. The couple shared nearly 39 years of marriage prior to Jerry’s passing on May 22, 2002. Sue was a loving wife, mother and grandmother - her world revolved around her family. She truly enjoyed looking after others, and, later in life, following Jerry’s death, she was employed as a health care aide, which fit her caring nature.

Sue was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church in Dover, and belonged to the Association of the Miraculous Medal. She loved the outdoors, especially gardening, and was a voracious reader.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Melinda (Philip) Drechsler of Valencia, California, David (Susan) Huff of Middletown, Maryland, Philip (Jason) Huff of Atlanta, Georgia, and Cindy (David) Wright of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Sarah, Jennifer, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Zachary, Laura, David and Doug; her sister, Judie Terakedis of North Olmsted; and her many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, and her husband Jerry, Sue was preceded in death by her siblings, Marilyn and Joseph Lab.

Honoring her wishes, Sue will be cremated. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 20, at 11 a.m., in Dover’s St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery, where her cremated remains will be interred alongside Jerry. Arrangements are in the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover.
