Steven R. "Steve" Class

Steven R. “Steve” Class, age 69, of Dover, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

Born September 23, 1953, in Dover, he was a son of Ramon D. Class of Dover and the late Margaret A. Lindsay Class. Steve graduated from Dover High School in 1972 and went on to attend The University of Akron. He was employed by Ferris Chevrolet in New Philadelphia for 26 years and then by the Parkway Auto Group in Dover.

Steve was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had a lifelong love for sports and enjoyed playing baseball for many years as well following Ohio sports teams. Steve especially enjoyed playing golf and bowling with his wife, Shellie. He also looked forward to annual vacations with Shellie at North Myrtle Beach. He kept a meticulous yard at his home, where he loved to have cookouts and share his love for music and sports with his friends, family and grandkids.

In addition to his father, Ramon, he will be dearly missed by his wife, Shellie (Dessecker) Class, whom he married on November 6, 2004; his children, Marybeth (Ash) Smith of Dover, Ben (Erin) Class of Canton South, Ashley (Jeff) Huff also of Dover, and Brittany (Chad) Walls of New Orleans; his ten grandchildren, Amaya, Sean, and Josh Baumberger, Hailey, Zach, Paige, and Peyton Huff, Jase, Ember, and Maverick Class; his sisters, Pam (Dan) Minnis of Dover and Becky (Jeff) Renicker of North Canton; and by his many nieces and nephews.

Besides his mother, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Class.

A private family service will be held in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover; Pastor David Wing will officiate.
