Steven Edward Reynolds

Steven Edward “Steve” Reynolds, 60, of Canton and formerly of Strasburg passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Compassionate Care in Canton, Ohio.

Born on May 1, 1961, in Dover, he was the son of the late V. A. “Buster” and Margaret (Aul) Reynolds. He graduated with the class of 1979 from Strasburg High School, then received his associate's degree in electronics from Stark State College in Canton. He later earned his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Akron.

He was a member of Trinity Gospel Temple in Canton and the Potter's House of Ohio New Philadelphia Chapter.

On July 17, 1982, he married the love of his life, Connie Trachsel at St. John United Church of Christ in Strasburg. In addition to Connie, he is survived by his children; Zachary and his wife, Maria Rose (Puliafico) Reynolds of Cleveland, and Stefanie “Stevie” and her husband, Stephan “Rusty” Jackson of Green; his brother, James (Holly) Reynolds of Lebanon, TN; along with his beloved canine companion; Chloe Monster, several nieces and nephews, and an extensive church family.

A lifelong fan of drama and the theater, he was always ready to perform or burst into song at a moment’s notice. He was a lover of science fiction and transferred this love of fantastic imagination and wild adventure to his entire family. He was an imaginative tinkerer, perpetually fiddling with various electronic devices. Steve was a generous soul, with a warmth that made everyone who crossed his threshold feel welcome and as if they were extended family.


Friends are invited to gather at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Strasburg (140 S. Bodmer Ave) on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 6 pm-8 pm. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at St. John United Church of Christ in Strasburg on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 11:00 am with Tom Cunningham and Brother Dave Lombardi officiating. Friends can call one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. A meal will be served in the church social hall following the committal service.
