Shari K. George

Shari K. (Finley) George, age 68, of New Philadelphia, passed away, following a long illness, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 11, 1956, in Dover, the daughter of the late Francis Finley and Dorothy Aschbacher Janson. Shari graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1975 and later returned to school graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Kent State University. She was employed by H-P Products in Louisville for 27 years, and had previously worked for Allied Baltic Rubber and Handy & Harman in Dover. Shari married David B. “Dave” George, who survives, on July 2, 1998. Some of her favorite pastimes were doing needlework, genealogical research and going camping with her family.

Shari will be dearly missed by her husband, Dave; her daughter, Tiffini (Michael) Gaskill of New Philadelphia; her step-son, Damien George of Wilmot; her granddaughters, of whom she was very proud, Madison and Jo; her step-grandchildren, Alexis, Devin and Daminique; her sister and brother, Rebecca (David) Graff and Michael (Lori) Finley, both of New Philadelphia; and her nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Sunday, December 22, 2 - 4 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Shari has been cremated, and a graveside service will be held Saturday, April 19, at 11:30 a.m., in New Philadelphia’s Schoenbrunn Meadow Cemetery; Pastor David Wing will officiate. Following the committal, there will be a lunch in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
