Sandra A. "Sandy" Miles

Sandra A. “Sandy” Miles, 82, of Dover, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, at Park Village Health Care Center.

Born June 24, 1944, in Canton to the late Vaughn and Eva (Keppler) McCracken.

Sandy graduated from Dover St. Joseph High School in 1962. She went on to build a rewarding career as a dining car supervisor with Amtrak, a role that fueled her love of travel. She journeyed across the United States and happened to be in New York City during the September 11th terror attacks, an experience that stayed with her the rest of her life. Sandy was a member of the Dover Moose, Elks, Eagles, and VFW, as well as H.E.R.H. Union Local #495. She found joy in simple pleasures: creating crafts, trying her luck at the slot machines, cheering on NASCAR, relaxing at the beach, and caring for animals. Her warm spirit and easy friendship left a lasting impression on those who knew her in both Ohio and Florida.

She is survived by her children, Katrina (Nelson) Morales of Florida, John (Dana) Miles of Dover; her grandchildren, Samantha and Sabrina Morales, and Ty and Zachery Miles; her great-grandson, Caden; her former husband, Jeff Miles of Mineral City; her cousin, Jim (Robin) Meese; and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mick McCracken.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover. Private graveside services will be held at St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery in Dover.
