Samuel Matthew (Matt) McNutt
Matt passed away peacefully at his home in Bolivar Ohio with his family at his bedside after a courageous but all too brief battle with cancer on Monday, July 4, 2022. He was born in Dover Ohio on November 17th, 1956, to Terry Moreland Manning and the late Samuel E. McNutt. He graduated from Dover High School in 1974. He was the owner and operator of Wilkshire Hills Napa and then Community Auto Parts in Bolivar prior to selling the store. He continued to work for the Napa store now known as Enger Auto and was the “go-to person” for the community’s auto parts needs until his illness forced his retirement in September of 2021. Matt was a “people person”, the kindest most honest friend to all. While Matt loved his cars, especially Cadillacs, he and Jim were avid collectors of Imperial Candlewick glassware originally made in Belaire Ohio, Jewel Tea by Hall China, and of course their furry rescue friends, the kitties. The parts store was home to Ginny, Alice, and Fluffy and each had favorite customers and friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Edward and Florence McNutt, maternal grandparents Ross and Betty G. Moreland, his father Samuel E. McNutt, stepmother Beverly J. McNutt, and his beloved Aunt, Betty Jo Checho. He was also preceded by his father and mother-in-law James and Barbara Robertson, sister-in-law Joyce Keisling, and brother-in-law John Anderson. He is survived by his partner and husband of 36 years James Robertson, his mother Terry M. Manning of the Gables of Canton, sisters Amy Pappas of Orlando Florida, Sharon (John) Di Santo of South Carolina, Laurene (Paul) De Monte of Dover, brothers Kraig (Barbara) Warther of Columbus, Robert (Cindy) Warther, Geoff (Debbie) Warther, Paul (Amy) McNutt, Steven McNutt of Dover, and niece Erica (Garett) Oehlstrom of Clermont Florida, and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
