Ruth M. Lewis, 82, of Dover, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, surrounded by her family.
Born Aug. 17, 1924, in Sugarcreek Township, Tuscarawas County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Renner Miller. Ruth attended Stoney Point School in Sugarcreek Township before marriage and rearing a family. She cleaned homes and doctors�(TM) offices in the Dover-New Philadelphia area for many years.
Ruth was a member of St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ, Dover, where she belonged to the Women�(TM)s Choir, and participated in various circles and groups within the church. Ruth also belonged to the Valley Voices choral group and was a Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen (husband, Robert) Baker and Sandra (husband, Rick) Moss, both of Dover; a son, Rodney Lewis of Overton, NV; six grandchildren, Amy (husband, Richard) Weber of Dover, Stacey Baker of Cary, NC, Andrew Moss of Akron, Adam Moss of Dover, Elizabeth and Nathan Lewis, both of Las Vegas; a sister Thelma (husband, Steve) Mihalik of Hartville; two brothers, Clayton Miller of North Carolina and Earl (wife, Marion) Miller of Versailles, MO; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a brother, Delbert Miller.
Her life will be celebrated in a service Monday, Feb. 12, at 10:30 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Rev. Michael Lowry officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Sugarcreek. Following the committal, there will be a meal in St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ.
