Rudy E. Rothacher

Rudy E. Rothacher, 85, of Dover passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021, at his son’s home in Elyria.

Rudy was born on February 20, 1936, in Dover. He was the son of the late Fred and Ida Pearl (Yeager) Rothacher.

He attended Dover High School. Rudy honorably served our country during the Korean War in the United States Army from 1954 until 1957. On June 4, 1961, he married the love of his life, Sally Murray, who preceded him in death on July 27, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his son, Keith Rothacher, along with nine brothers and sisters.

He retired from Garaway Local School where he was a custodian for many years.

Rudy will be sadly missed by his children; Tracy (Sueann) Rothacher of Nashville; Eugene (Stephanie) Rothacher of Elyria, and Anita Rothacher and her fiance, Kevin Menapace of New Philadelphia; two siblings, Laura Hidey of Ft. Meyers, FL, and Larry (Carol) Rothacher of Indiana; along with six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 3:30-5:30 pm. A funeral service celebrating Rudy’s life will take place at the funeral home on Friday at 5:30 with Rev. Billy Johnson officiating.
