Rudolph W. "Rudy" Luthy, aged 91, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at Ohio's Hospice Truman House. Born on July 31, 1934, in Dover, Ohio, he was the son of the late John and Martha (Keller) Luthy.
He married his high school sweetheart, Mary “Darlene” (Wheeler) Luthy, on December 3, 1955. They were married for over 50 years before she preceded him in death on May 3, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his three brothers, Donny, Jack, and Ronny Luthy.
Rudy honorably served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955, a period that not only shaped his character but also instilled in him a profound sense of duty and patriotism that would extend throughout his life. Following his military service, Rudy embarked on a distinguished career in the steel industry, retiring from Greer Steel after over 30 years as an electrician. After his retirement, he continued to apply his skills at Newport Rolling Mill in Uhrichsville for an additional ten years.
