Rosalie A. Goodman

Rosalie A. Goodman, age 85, of Strasburg, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in Dover’s Park Village Health Care Center.

Born April 10, 1940, in Woodsfield, she was the daughter of the late Kermit and Elizabeth (Freitag) Longfellow. Rosalie graduated from Strasburg-Franklin High School and went on to study at Columbus Business College. She wed John W. Goodman on March 24, 1962; the couple had two children and shared 60 years of marriage prior to John’s passing on May 13, 2022. Rosalie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was employed for 40 years by The Citizens Savings Bank in Strasburg, which later became Unified Bank. Rosalie was hard-working and well-respected.

Some of her favorite pastimes included cross-stitching, making wedding cakes for family and friends, which were beautiful, and travel; Rosalie and John visited Alaska and Hawaii, the western United States, and "quilt barns" throughout Ohio and beyond.  

She will be dearly missed by her son, Michael (Patty) Goodman of Florida; her nine grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; her siblings, Richard (Beth) Longfellow, Evelyn Longfellow (Leon) Smith, and David (Sheri) Longfellow; as well as her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, John, Rosalie was preceded in death by her daughter, Betsy Goodman, and her granddaughter, Heather Goodman.

Honoring her wishes, Rosalie will be cremated and her cremated remains buried privately, along with those of John, in Strasburg’s Grandview Union Cemetery.
