Uhrichsville

Ronald W. Swearengin, age 48, of Uhrichsville, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, in Community Hospice Truman House, New Philadelphia.

Born March 14, 1975 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, he was a son of Jonalene C. Jordan Kruse of Colorado Springs and the late Charles E. Swearengin.

Ronald attended Henryetta High School in Oklahoma, and had diverse careers over his lifetime - having worked as a pipeliner, blackjack dealer, coal miner, and as the manager of a Pig Out Restaurant. His ability to adapt to different roles showcased his resourcefulness and dedication.

Ronald found solace in casting his line and fishing in peaceful waters. He truly enjoyed the tranquility  experienced while being surrounded by nature. Furthermore, Ronald cherished spending time with his beloved family, particularly going to church with them. Playing poker with friends, and chasing thunderstorms also brought him satisfaction. One could say that Ronald knew how to embrace life's simple joys.

Ronald will be remembered as an individual who embodied kindness and loyalty. He had a strong bond with Pastor Blaze, formerly of the Uhrichsville Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Blaze was a trusted and supportive companion.

In addition to his mother, he is  survived by his wife, Shantell Swearengin; his children Sierra (Mitch) Harper, Ronald (Morgan) Swearengin Jr., Maryjane Swearengin, Charlie Swearengin, and Toby Swearengin. Ronald also leaves behind his brothers, Mike (Nita) Nelson and Dakota Swearengin; his dear friend, Heidi Villeneuve - who is also the mother of Maryjane and Ronald Jr.; and his numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who will carry his memory in their hearts.

Besides his father, Ronald was also preceded in death by his daughter, Ceaira "Boo" Swearengin, and his brother, Charles E. Swearengin Jr.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover, and Ronald's family will hold their own private time of remembrance.
