It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert R. Lewis of Dover, Ohio who went to his heavenly home to be cleansed by our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. He was born on August 16, 1937, in Carroll County, Ohio to the late Howard and Osa (Moyer) Lewis. He attended Carrollton High School.
He was employed for 40 years at Kopp Clay Corporation, formerly Malvern Flue Lining in Malvern and retired in 1994. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in New Philadelphia and the Dover Eagles. He enjoyed repairing and working on most anything, he dedicated his life to helping so many people. He never found a job or task that wasn’t worth spending time on. For many years he produced large fruit/vegetable gardens which he was so proud of as well as using his Ford tractor.
Bob was affectionately known by many, he was a shining light in the lives of all who had known him. His journey on this Earth was one marked by love, compassion and devotion to family and friends. His greatest love was his family and spending time with them. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended but for the way it was lived and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him, that infectious smile, laughter and the many stories he shared about his life. Bob never met a stranger; he had a heart of gold and wanted everyone to be happy and to love life! We thank him for his love and guidance, and we will carry his memory in our hearts forever, he will be sorely missed until we are reunited one day.
He and his wife Mabel enjoyed many good times as “snowbirds” in Sarasota, Florida, he loved the warm sunshine and rooting her on while she played shuffleboard. They also spent many adventurous trips to West Virginia to visit family and work on the farms.
He sadly leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years, Mabel (Bennett) Lewis whom he married on June 8, 1957; children Michael (Carol) Lewis of Tuscarawas and Michelle (Roger) Venzin of Fairfield, Pennsylvania; and grandchildren, Kellie Lewis of Concord, NC and Anthony Venzin of Fairfield, Pennsylvania and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, who he shared a uniquely close and loving relationship with.
