Robert E. “Bob” Gordon, age 78, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021, in Community Hospice Truman House, New Philadelphia.
Born July 1, 1942, in Dover, he was the son of the late Ralph and Thelma Meek Gordon. Bob graduated from Dover High School in 1960; on August 28th of that year he married the former Mary Noland, who survives. For many years he owned and operated Gordon Refrigeration in Dover. Following his retirement, Bob was employed as a truck driver for his son.
He was a member of Barrs Mill Church of God in Sugarcreek. Bob and Mary enjoyed spending winters in Arcadia, Florida, and while there they attended the First Church of the Nazarene. In his younger days, Bob liked riding motorcycles.
In addition to Mary, his loving wife of 60 years, Bob is survived by his children, Pam (Dennis) Manbeck of Dennison, Rodney (Debbie) Gordon of Sugarcreek, Randy (Jayne) Gordon of Baltic, and Ronnie (B.J.) Gordon of Dover; his 10 grandchildren; his 18 great-grandchildren; and his two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren and his sister, Bonnie Mack.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Friday, June 18, 1 – 2 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2, with burial in Dover’s Ridgecrest Memory Gardens.
