Robert A. Huff, age 95, of Dover, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, in Park Village Health Care Center.
Born Mar. 2, 1917, at New Philadelphia, Robert was a son of the late Francis J. and Adella Portz Huff. He graduated from Dover High School and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Ohio State University in 1939. Robert served honorably as an electronics officer in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre during the Second World War. Following his service time, he was employed by the Marsh Lumber Co. at Dover, specifically as Marlite Advertising and Market Research Director. Robert retired from Marsh in 1980.
Survivors include his four sons, Samuel B. (Diane) Huff of Cary, IL, Francis J. Huff of Redwood City, CA, Robert C. (Marion) Huff of New York, NY, and Thomas W. (Rosa) Huff of Columbus; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his former wife, Beatrice Keplinger Huff of Dover; two sisters, Dorothy Pettibone of Barnstable, MA, and Barbara (Richard) Ellwood of Lancaster; his brother, F. Richard (Dottie) Huff of Dover; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Myers Nixon Huff, in 1997; and two sisters, Kathryn Strong and Margaret Immel.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover on Monday, Aug. 13, 9 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11, officiated by Dr. William C. Haggis. Burial will be in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
