Rick ''Skip'' Erickson

Rick D. ''Skip'' Erickson, 54, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, September 8, 2000 in Union Hospital.

Born April, 2, 1946 at Dover he was the son of Otis T. Erickson, and the late Alice M. Shipley Erickson.

Skip was an Army Green Beret who earned a Purple Heart and Silver Star while serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the Disabled American Veternas and a life member of the Dover VFW. He was also avid racing enthusiast, having been a member of NHRA.

In addition to his father, Skip is survived by:

A son Rick Erickson of Baltic
2 sisters Linda Palchick of Chesterland, Ohio
Gaye Gavhane of Russell, Ohio
3 grandchildren Chase, Austin, & Cole

A public graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 13, at 2:30pm in the Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia with Rev. Jeffrey R. Gerber officiating. The Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. There are no calling hours.
