Richard R. Vogt Jr., 68, of Uhrichsville died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021 at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital following a period of declining health.
Richard retired in 2015 from the Gradall Corporation in New Philadelphia.
Born Sept. 21, 1953 in Dover, Ohio, he was the son of the late Richard R. and Lila (Grove) Vogt Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Link.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman having enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. He especially loved barbeque on his grill for family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and especially rooted on the OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He was a 1972 graduate of New Philadelphia High School.
He will be sadly missed by his family including his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth (Barlock) Vogt; three daughters, Sandra (Josh) Fox of Gnadenhutten, Barbara Rankin of Canton and Sarah Vogt of Kent; a son, Michael Wolfarth of New Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Gavin Rankin and Adalyn; a sister, Janet Vogt of New Philadelphia along with numerous nieces and nephews.
At his request, he will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. His care has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover.
