Richard G. "Bo" Arnold, 90, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Park Village Health Care Center.

Born on October 17, 1935, in Dover, Bo was the son of the late James Sterling and Hettie Brown Arnold. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jay and Lee Arnold, and his sister, Mary Sue Bleininger.

A 1954 graduate of Dover High School, Bo began his career at Shenango in Dover before becoming a bus driver for Starlight Enterprises. He retired in 2002 after 15 years of dedicated service. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and was a longtime member of First Christian Church in New Philadelphia. Bo found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He took pride in caring for his yard and mowing. Additionally, he loved to travel, exploring destinations across the United States and Europe. Most of all, he cherished family vacations to Lido Beach, Florida, where he created lasting memories with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Shirley Rufener Arnold, whom he married on October 2, 1955; his children, Karen (James) Hegidus of Uniontown and Kevin (Clayton) Waldschlager-Arnold of Michigan; grandchildren, Ashley (Mark) Caldwell, Amanda (Dominick) Quinn, and Bennett Waldschlager-Arnold; and one great-granddaughter, Esther.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover. A celebration of Bo’s life will be held at a later date.
