Rebecca A. "Becky" Wayt

Rebecca A. “Becky” Wayt, 76, of Dover, passed away at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia on Friday, March 11, 2022.


Born in Dover on August 4, 1945, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Ruby (Angel) Vance.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Earl Wayt, and her sister, Polly Vance.


She was a graduate of Dover High School and became a licensed beautician. She retired from Vance Truck Service, where she was a secretary for many years.


Becky was an active member of the First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia. She loved the Lord and enjoyed reading the Bible. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; especially her beloved grandchildren. She was a member of the TOPS weight-loss group where she met many close friends over the years.


She leaves behind her children; Barry (Donna) Wayt of New Philadelphia, William (Virginia) Wayt of Bowerston, and Christal (Benjamin) Ritchey of Uhrichsville; seven grandchildren, Benjamin, Karla, Jennifer, Adam, Joshua, Jaiden, and Braiden; seven great-grandchildren, Zoey, Alexander, Waylon, Allysa, Hailey, Riley, and Olivia. She is survived by her brother, Daniel J. Vance (Patricia Vance) of Florida; and her sister, Bonnie Ringley of Dover. She had many friends at her church and at the Seton Square community where she lived. She will be sadly missed by all.


Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory of Dover on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 10:00-11:00 am. Todd Gopp will officiate a service immediately following the calling hour on Thursday at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park Mausoleum.
