Raymond A. Van Fossen

Raymond Van Fossen, age 67, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, following a period of declining health.

Born on June 17, 1959, Ray was the son of the late Wilma (Bucey) and Donald Van Fossen. Ray graduated from Indian Hills High School in 1978. While in school, Ray enjoyed playing basketball, and his love of sports carried into adulthood. He enjoyed cheering on the Browns and Ohio State football. Ray also enjoyed watching scary movies. He was employed by Walmart for many years.

Ray will be missed by his sister, Lydia (Mike) Blair; nieces, Makayla Blair and Tiffany Blair; and great nieces, Audrey Slemmer and Lacey Bateman.

In honoring Ray’s wishes, cremation care has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory in Dover. Services are pending, and this site will be updated when service times have been finalized. An online condolence can be left by visiting the funeral home’s website.
