Randy Edward Johns

Randy Edward Johns, 69, of Dover, passed away at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Dover on August 13, 1956, Randy was the son of the late Edward and Doreen (Landis) Johns. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sandra “Sandy” Johns.

A proud member of the Dover High School Class of 1974, Randy began a long and dedicated career with Buehler’s Fresh Foods shortly after graduation. He retired after 43 years.

On August 26, 2016, Randy married the love of his life, Perriann McCoy. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, companionship, and countless shared adventures.

A self-taught tennis player, Randy achieved remarkable success in the sport he loved, earning a USTA national ranking in singles competition—a testament to his determination and natural talent. When he wasn’t on the tennis court, he could often be found on the golf course, especially at Pinehurst, a destination he looked forward to visiting each year. Randy also enjoyed traveling, with fall beach trips being one of his favorite traditions.

In addition to his wife, Perriann, he leaves behind his children; Amanda (Greg) Holmes of Tusky, Barry (Danielle) McCoy of Massillon; grandchildren, Mackena (Blake) Linard, Brennan Shaver, Kendyl Moore, Kyler Moore, Carter Holmes, Casey Holmes, Hayden McCoy, and Ella McCoy; great grandchildren, Brexton, Lanxton, and Stetson; his golf buddies, Pete, Bill, Dave, Tim, and Mike; along with his good friends, Ron Tristano, and Julie and Bill Martin.

A funeral will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11:00 am with Pastor Dixie McHughl officiating.
