Navarre

Ralph E. Cunningham, 94, of Navarre passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, six days before the start of a Caribbean cruise, now he rests in true paradise with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born on June 20, 1929, in Canton, and was a son of the late Burton and Evelyn Rice Cunningham.  Ralph was also preceded in death by his wife, Roselyn E. "Rosie" Cunningham on February 22, 2020

Alongside his wife Roselyn, he owned and operated Roselyn's Music Studio for an astounding 67 years. As teachers themselves, Ralph and Roselyn nurtured countless aspiring musicians and became a source of inspiration for many professional teachers and performers who got their start at the studio. Their profound influence helped shape the music culture in Dover and beyond.  Not only was Ralph a music entrepreneur, but he also showcased his exceptional skills as a general contractor specializing in concrete and masonry work. Remarkably, he held this profession well into his 80s, demonstrating his work ethic and tenacity throughout his life.

A devoted member of the Gathering Place Community Church in Brewster, Ralph found solace and strength in his faith. Those who knew Ralph can attest to his diligent nature. A hard worker through and through, he never missed a day of work—showing up with enthusiasm and dedication that inspired those around him.  Music was not just a profession for Ralph, it was his lifeline; he was gifted with incredible talent for playing numerous string instruments.  In addition to music, Ralph possessed a love for travel that took him to different corners of the world. Cruises were among his favorite adventures, where he reveled in the beauty of distant lands while creating treasured memories along the way.

Ralph leaves behind a legacy cherished by his beloved daughter, Priscilla Cunningham of Beach City; brother, Jerry (Gail) Cunningham of Las Vegas; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Carl, Clara (Bud) Mason, and Jeanne (Rick) Troyer mourn Ralph's loss alongside numerous extended family members.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover.  A celebration of Ralph and Roselyn's life will be held on Sunday, January 28th starting at 3:00 pm in the Gathering Place Community Church at Brewster.  The family will be greeting friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.
