Phyllis J. Wright

Phyllis Wright, age 75, of Dover, passed away at her home on Friday, November 6, 2026, following a brief period of declining health.

Phyllis was born on August 16, 1951 to the late Philip and Marie (Kullman) LeGlise. She graduated from Strasburg High School in 1969. On June 8, 1979, Phyllis married Clifford Wright, and the couple shared over 47 wonderful years of marriage.

A true homemaker, Phyllis was an avid cross-sticher, and always had a project going. She also enjoyed reading, and would often read well over 100 books each year. She especially loved traveling to Disney parks with her daughter, and could often be found riding in a semi truck with Clifford before his retirement.

In addition to her beloved husband, Clifford, Phyllis will be deeply missed by her daughter, Angela Wright; her grand-dogs, Pongo and Ellie; her brothers, Ray, Dennis, Victor, Mark, and Dan LeGlise; sisters, Mary Hershberger and Margaret LeGlise; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her brothers, Bernard, Carl, Glen, and Cletus LeGlise; and her sister, Rita Hoover.

The family would like to thank the hospice staff for the care they provided in Phyllis’s final days. They suggest making a donation to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 1432 Tall Timber Road NE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663, in her honor.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 12, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dover. The family will greet guests on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at the Toland Herzig Funeral Home in Dover from 5 to 7 pm. Phyllis will be laid to rest at Dover Burial Park following the funeral mass.
