Phillip J. Bunton Sr.

Phillip J. Bunton Sr., 62, of Dover died Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Aultman Hospital.

Born on June 4, 1959 in Cuyahoga Falls he was a son of the late Ronald Bunton and Elizabeth Weselek Walker. Phil was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce and Jesse Bunton and a niece, Jessica Byler.

He was the owner and operator of Phil’s Well Service Inc. for many years. Phil was extremely handy, and enjoyed woodworking and fixing cars. In his spare time he loved to fish, camp and going to the races at Midvale Speedway.

Phil is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joanna Shaw Bunton whom he married on May 13, 1978; children, Heather (Donald) Kline of New Concord, Phillip (Candie) Bunton Jr. of Dover, Chasity Bunton of New Philadelphia, Ronald (Aleisha) Bunton of Gnadenhutten; siblings, Robert (Karen) Bunton, Lottie Walker both of Strasburg, Donnie Bunton, Ronald Bunton, Sandra Brown, Terrina Bunton all of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Strasburg. The family will be greeting friends on Thursday at the Strasburg Funeral Home from 5-7 pm.
