Norma J. Raber

February 13, 1933 — August 5, 2023

Norma J. Raber, a lifelong resident of Strasburg, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023. She had an incredible life filled with love, laughter, and dedication. Norma was born on February 13, 1933, to the late Wilbur and Dorothy Huffman Weber.

From a young age, it was clear that Norma possessed an exceptional work ethic. Upon graduating from high school, she joined the former Citizens Bank where she worked tirelessly for over 50 years. Her commitment to her job and the community was truly remarkable, and she left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

Norma had a deep affection for her hometown and its sports teams. She was an avid Strasburg Tiger fan and followed all sports with great enthusiasm. However, her true passion lay in watching Strasburg Softball games.

But it was in the company of horses that Norma discovered pure joy. Together with her late husband, Tony L. Raber, Norma found solace in their shared passion for these magnificent creatures. For many years, they dedicated their time to buying, training, and driving horses at harness racing tracks throughout Ohio. These equine companions were like children to them, bringing immeasurable happiness and countless cherished memories.  She and Tony also enjoyed fishing.

In addition to her parents, Norma was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tony L. Raber on June 11, 2019. Norma's memory will forever be cherished by her surviving family, including her brother, Don (Linda) Weber of Strasburg; nephew, Rob (Tanya) Weber of Mineral City; niece, Heather (Jeff) Duff of Strasburg, along with great nieces and nephew, Eric and Hannah Duff and Scout Weber.

Private graveside services will be held in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice at 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
