Norma J. Collins, age 97, of Troy, Michigan, and formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025, in Troy.

Born June 25, 1928, in Detroit, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Nona (Watts) Wilson. Norma moved with her family at a young age to Tuscarawas County, where she grew up and attended school. She relocated to Florida in the late 1960’s where she was employed as a server, and later manager, for Howard Johnson’s. She lived in Florida for nearly 25 years, before returning to Ohio to care for her mother. Norma moved back to the state of her birth following her mother’s passing.

She is survived by her children, Karen Hancock and Terry Collins, both of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Sherry (Shane) Holdsworth, Lisa (Wendell) Mullins, Shawn, Shane and Aaron Buckohr, Jessica (Braden) Rue, John Hancock, Katlyn (Ryan) Lambert and Sierra (Caleb Geog) Hancock; her many great-grandchildren; her brother, Larry (Dorothy) Wilson; and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her sister, Maybrey Loudine Mix; her brother, John Wilson; and her former husband, Robert Collins.

In accordance with her wishes, Norma will be cremated and her cremated remains buried in New Philadelphia’s East Avenue Cemetery.
