Nichole L. VanMeter

Nichole L. VanMeter, 38, of Strasburg, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. 

Born on July 7, 1987, in Dover, she was the daughter of Bobbie Jo Parson of Canton and the late David Price.

A 2005 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, Nichole worked for more than 10 years as general manager and bartender at Hog Heaven in Parrall. She played a key role in the daily operations of the business and handled booking for the bands that performed there.She enjoyed riding her Harley-Davidson and was a member of the Lady Gorillas. Nichole was also a member of New Pointe Community Church. She loved spending time with her children and family, had a deep affection for animals, and was actively involved in organizing community benefits and events.

She is survived by her children, Xzavier VanMeter, Zayden VanMeter, and Lincoln Walker, all of the home; sisters, Tiffany (Brittany Muth) Rowe of Dennison, Cassidy Rowe of Uhrichsville, Kayley (Glenn) Hickman, Kyrie Price, and Janessa Price, all of New Philadelphia; significant other, Elwin Thomas; former husband, Jake VanMeter, both of Strasburg; father of Lincoln, Leif Walker of New Philadelphia; stepfather, Bill Rowe of Uhrichsville; special family friends, Shelby Kreig, Joe (Mindy) Croft, and Christina Daniels; many nieces and nephews; and the entire Hog Heaven family.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Helen Zurcher, William Parson, and Sunny (Nancy) Meinhart.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Strasburg.  A celebration of Nichole’s life will be held at a later date.
