Nancy J. Wilkins, 80, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital. She was born on January 9, 1943, in Coshocton, Ohio to the late Eugene and Edith McCune Heston. Nancy was also preceded in death by her brothers, Keith, Richard and Timothy Heston; and sister, Ann Marshall.
Nancy dedicated many years of her life working as an Account Clerk for the Welfare Department at the Tuscarawas County Health Department. Her commitment to public service and her exceptional work ethic were evident throughout her career. Nancy's kind and compassionate nature made a lasting impact on those she served and worked with. She had a genuine passion for animals and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Another passion close to Nancy's heart was watching Ohio State University football games. Nancy's love for the Buckeyes was an integral part of her identity and something she shared with pride.
On June 14, 2003, Nancy exchanged vows with, Dieter Wilkins MD. Together they celebrated twenty beautiful years of marriage. She is also survived by her children, Kelly (Matt) Argento, Mark (Heather) O'Connor both of New Philadelphia, Brent (Dalyn) O'Connor of Gnadenhutten, Matthew Wilkins of Idaho; sister, Janie Heston of Newcomerstown; brother, Matt Heston of Coshocton; grandchildren, Rian, Garin, Kyle (Kara), Brennon (Allysa), Keiron, and Brogan O'Connor, Cassidy (Charlie) Deeds, Connor (Monica) Argento, and Heather (Josh) Mahaffey. Nancy was also blessed with great-grandchildren Sloane Deeds, Bannon O'Connor, and Aiden and Nolan Mahaffey.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A private celebration of Nancy's life will be held.
