Nancy Rae Reichman

July 21, 1935 — September 13, 2022

Nancy Rae Reichman, 87, of Dover passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at her home surrounded by her five daughters.

Born on July 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Mary Kay (Meyer) Hayward. She married Howard Richard “Dick” Reichman on June 13, 1954. Dick preceded her in death following 35 years of marriage on March 26, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her brother; Thomas M. Hayward, her son-in-law, Robert R. Everhart Jr., and her grandson, Christopher Chek.

Nancy was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of Dover. She lived a life full of joy and love, and left behind a legacy to be proud of. In her younger years, she was an active participant in everything from skeet shooting to skiing to bowling. The outdoors were a common place of enjoyment for her, as she especially enjoyed fishing trips with her husband Dick at their cabin in Canada, and numerous camping trips with her large family. She had many hobbies throughout her life. Her passion for art was exemplified through many hours spent painting and drawing, and she loved playing cards and games. It was a family tradition to gather around and play games together during the holidays. Something her family will always remember about her was her love of classic movies. She could quickly recall nearly any film and who starred in it. In her later years, she owned a home directly behind the visitor seats at Crater Stadium in Dover. It was the host of many tailgates on Friday nights. At these tailgates and everywhere she went, she was known as "Grandma Nan", and she didn't want it any other way. Of all her joys and passions, nothing was more important to Nancy than her family. She was so proud of the family her and Dick built. It extended from five daughters to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. They will never forget her quirky euphemisms and the many memories and times spent together. Nancy will be missed by many, but her family and friends are comforted knowing that her long awaited reunion with Dick has finally come.

Survived by her five daughters; Debbie (Steve) Clinton, Susie Everhart, Kimberly (Greg) Chek, Lauri (Jeff) Mamarella, and Kelly (John) Fishley; grandchildren, Jeremy Penrod, Erin (Andy) Wright, April (Ryan) Range, Joshua (Wendy) Everhart, Tierney (Damien) Laverty, Jordan Chek (Fiancé, Blake Edmond), Nicole (Arthur) Zurcher, Kate (Diana Smith) Fishley, Ryan (Sarah) Braglin, Matthew (Amanda) Fishley; great-grandchildren, Noah and Carter Begue, Dominic Wright, Kaden and Aubree Penrod, Jack and Ella Range, Shelby and Siena Everhart, Savannah and Scarlett Laverty, Luca and Ladea Zurcher, Kendall and Mila Smith, Nora and Claire Fishley; her sister, Susan (Edward) Smith, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Community Hospice for their continued support, along with her special home health aide, Leah Moore. The family suggests that donations be made in her memory to the Community Hospice Truman House, 716 Commercial Ave NW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
