Nancy L. Gerber

Nancy L. Gerber, 77, of Dover, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Aultman Hospital in Canton after a period of declining health.

Born on March 20, 1948, in Canton, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Martha Burgess Hawk. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Hawk.

Nancy dedicated 20 years of her career as an LPN, retiring from the office of Dr. Blair Holder and Dr. Terry Stocker. A member of Ragersville Zion United Church of Christ, she found joy in her faith, family, and quiet moments spent reading. Above all, she cherished time with her grandchildren, who brought light to her life.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Howard Gerber; children, Lisa (Kevin) Leitner of Tallmadge and Mike (Teresa) Gerber of Dover; and grandchildren, Chase (fiancée, Cate) Leitner, Paige Leitner, Keira Leitner, Gavyn Gerber, and Kaden Gerber.

Cremation has been entrusted to Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover. A service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. LuAnn Youngman officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. The family will be greeting friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
