Mary A. Pietro

Mary A. Pietro, 94, of Dover, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover.

She was born on March 25, 1932, in Hamilton, Bermuda, the daughter of the late Royal and Ethel (Allen) King. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Pietro, on April 10, 2016; her brother, John King; and her sister, Dorothy King.

Mary held a special place in her heart for Bermuda, where she was born and lived for 21 years. While there, she met Charles, who was stationed with the U.S. Navy. They fell in love, married, and moved to the United States after the birth of their first son, Jeff. In the States, Mary became a dedicated homemaker and welcomed two more children, John and Liz. She loved her family above all else and treasured time spent with her large circle of friends. She particularly enjoyed playing bridge with her club friends and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children: Jeff (Fran) Pietro of Sherrodsville; John (Denise) Pietro of Canfield; and Liz (Art) DeCrane of Powell; her grandchildren: Jonathan, Matthew, Kimberly, Kelley, Blake, and Kyle; her great-grandchildren: Elliott, Leon, Nova, Parker, Maxwell, Dante, and Julian; and many dear friends.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3rd. starting at 11:00 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery. The family will be greeting friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
