Mary C. Grewell

Mary Catherine Sica Grewell, age 89, life-long resident of Dover, passed away on August 21, 2025 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover.

She was born on January 27,1936, the daughter of Paolo (“Paul”) and Maria Michelina (“Lena”, “Marie”) Sica who had emigrated to Dover from Piano Vetrale, Italy.

Mary graduated from Dover High School in 1953 and married Floyd M. Grewell on September 19,1953. The couple shared 68 years of marriage before Floyd’s passing on December 9, 2021. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dedicated much of her life to caring for her extended family. Mary served for four years as Delaware District chairperson for northeast Ohio’s Girl Scout Council prior to her professional management career in the oil and gas industry. She was former Vice President (Lands) with Berea Oil & Gas and served on the Business Technologies Advisory Committee for Kent State University at Tuscarawas, New Philadelphia.

Mary is survived by her three daughters, Brenda Grewell (Steve Kidner) of California, Gail Garbrandt of Zoar, and Tammy Grewell Westerman (Alan Kitchen) of South Carolina; her brother, Aleo Giuseppe Sica of Charlotte, North Carolina; her grandchildren, John Marino and Vanessa Marino; two great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Interment will be with Floyd at Bethel Cemetery in Salem Township. There will be no services or calling hours.
