Mary Evelyn Chewning, 82, of Wilmot, Ohio passed away suddenly at her home on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Born in Mineral City, Ohio on July 19, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John and Lucinda (Trover) Wheadon.
On March 17, 1958, she married the love of her life, Teddy T. Chewning, who preceded her in death on April 7, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her son, Randy Chewning in 1961.
Mary was a machine operator at Cosmo Plastics for many years. She was a certified Home Health Aid and an EMT with the Winesburg Fire Department.
She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family and loved collecting knick-knacks and teddy bears.
Mary will be sadly missed by her four children; Tad Chewning of Millersburg, Rosemary (Robert) Campbell of Wooster, Lonnie (Diane) Chewning of Wilmot, Billy Joe (Elaine) Chewning of Strasburg; her nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.
Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Al Swinehart officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Forest Lawn Gardens in McMurray, Pennsylvania next to Teddy.
