Martha M. McCahill

Martha M. McCahill, age 85, of Dover, passed away on May 19, 2026, at New Dawn Healthcare Center.

Born June 4, 1940, Martha was the daughter of the late Fred and Orda Breniser Zaugg. She graduated from Dover High School in 1958, and went on to marry the late Ronald McCahill on March 17, 1962. Ron and Martha loved to travel and ride motorcycles together. The couple enjoyed 58 years of marriage until Ronald's passing on November 22, 2020. 

Martha was a dedicated stay-at-home mom to her three sons, Scott, Todd, and Mark. As her children grew, she proudly returned to school, and graduated with her Bachelor's of Nursing from Kent State in 1981. She retired in 1996 after 15 years of service to Doctor's Hospital in Massillon.

Martha will be missed by her surviving sons, Scott McCahill of New Philadelphia, and Mark McCahill of Dover; and her grandchildren, Nikole and Cody McCahill. In addition to her parents and husband, her son, Todd McCahill and brother, Robert Zaugg, preceded her in death.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover. A graveside service officiated by celebrant Kevin O'Brien will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Dover Burial Park.
