Mark S. Levengood, 72, of Dover, passed away on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024 at the Ohio Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. Mark was born in Dover on June 27, 1952 to Rev. Robert “Jack” and Phyllis Levengood. He was a 1970 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Mark worked for many years as a route salesperson for Pepsi Co. Mark also worked numerous sales positions, and for a number of years with Smith Ambulance driving an ambulette.
Mark enjoyed watching sports, particularly Ohio State and Cleveland sports teams. He loved golf and played often in his early years. He greatly enjoyed his weekly Wednesday breakfasts with his brothers, cousins, and friends in the area. Mark loved dogs, and loved spending time in his favorite chair with the family dog, Oliver.
Mark married the love of his life, Patty (Adams) Levengood on May 28th,1972. Together they had two children, Scott and Kristi.
Mark was preceded in death by his son, Scott Levengood, his brother Jon “Eric” Levengood, his parents, and the family dogs Willie and Ginger.
Mark will be greatly missed by his wife of 52 years, Patty Levengood, his daughter Kristi Levengood of New Philadelphia, his daughter-in-law Charity Levengood of Westerville, grandchildren Karley and Gage, his brother Jeff (Joyce) Levengood of New Philadelphia, his cousin Chris (Sue) Meek of New Philadelphia, his best friend John (Phyllis) McVey of Bellaire, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
Mark was a man of deep faith, and was a charter member of Alpine Bible Church in Sugarcreek. Because of his love of God’s word, in lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to Steppin’ Out Missions of Sugarcreek (P.O. Box 532 Sugarcreek OH, 44681). Friends are invited to Alpine Bible Church for a Celebration on Life on Sunday, November 10th at 3 p.m., located at 719 Dutch Valley Dr NE in Sugarcreek. Pastor Byron Stewart will be officiating.
