Marion L. Shoup

Marian L. Shoup, 80, of New Philadelphia passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026 in the Ohio's Hospice Truman House.

Born December 13, 1945 in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Marion Phillips and Wilma White Phillips Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Wilma Jean Phillips.

Marian had worked at Big Lots in New Philadelphia for many years. She was a member of the Barrs Mill Church of God and the Senior Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting and reading.

Marian is survived by her children, Jimmy (Missy) Shoup of Brewster, John Shoup of Canton, Nancy (Bill) Burger of New Philadelphia, Reece Shoup of Columbus, Steve Shoup of Gnadenhutten; brothers, Jim Phillips of Nevada, Reece Phillips of Arkansas; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held with interment in the Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek.
