Marie Elizabeth Zeigler

July 26, 1944 — March 26, 2026

Dover, Ohio

Marie Elizabeth Zeigler, age 81, of Dover, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.

Born on July 26, 1944, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, Marie was the daughter of the late Russell and Betty (Robinson) Miller. She graduated from Dover High School in 1962, beginning a lifetime of dedication to her community and the people she loved.

On September 1, 1962, Marie married the love of her life, Guy Zeigler, at the Old St. Joseph Church. Together, they built a life centered on family, kindness, and service to others. As a devoted homemaker, Marie created a warm and welcoming home that became a gathering place for many.

Marie had a deep commitment to her classmates and community. She faithfully organized Dover High School Class of 1962 reunions for over 30 years and thoughtfully arranged flowers in remembrance of classmates who had passed. Her caring nature extended to her involvement in 4-H, where she served as an advisor for more than 30 years for the Tusky Valley Farmers. Marie had a special passion for mentoring young people, always encouraging and supporting 4-H youth in their growth and accomplishments. She also founded and ran the county’s 4-H Buyers Banquet for 15 years, allowing young participants to give back following the fair.

Marie found great joy in travel, especially to Walt Disney World, which she visited more than 20 times with Guy. Her love of Disney was contagious—she delighted in organizing trips for others to experience its magic, and she shared that joy with her family through a dedicated Disney room, themed Christmas trees, and treasured family vacations. Each year, she lovingly selected Disney ornaments for her family, creating lasting traditions and memories.

For over 50 years, Marie also enjoyed traveling to Canada, a place that held many special memories for her. She was known affectionately as the “Quillow Lady,” a title earned through her creation of more than 1,000 quillows over 35 years. She began this craft alongside her mother, making her very first quillow for her father during his dialysis treatments—a reflection of her compassionate and giving spirit.

Marie will be remembered for her generosity, creativity, and unwavering dedication to others. She had a sweet tooth and especially loved anything maple, a small joy that brought her much happiness.

In addition to her husband; Guy, she leaves behind her children; Jeff (Becky) Zeigler of Dover, Jim Zeigler of Dover, Joy (Scott) Sharp of Stoutsville, Jill (Josh) Brandt of Dover; her grandchildren, Jessi, Cale, Jenna, Jordan, Clay, Hunter, Katerina, Kaylee, Cameron, Madisyn, and Jackson; 13 great-grandchildren and another on the way; her nephew, Kevin (Laura) Fruchey; special friends, Mary Ellen Hall and Sharon Rostad along with many other close friends.
