Margie Elizabeth Tate-Derrow

October 2, 1948 — January 31, 2026

Bolivar, Ohio

Margie Elizabeth Tate-Derrow, 77, born October 2, 1948, went to be with Jesus (peacefully), and made new on January 31, 2026 at 10:10pm after health complications. She made it to her daughter Joy’s home, where she wanted to be when she left us. She waited for her daughter, Amy, to get there after she took one more drink of coffee than began her journey.

Margie was born in Braxton County in her home in Windy Run, West Virginia. She had 8 other siblings - Clara, Roy, Eddie, Louella, David, Jimmy, Shirley, and Cam.

She was retired. She worked at factories. She was even a go-go dancer. She helped at her husband's carpet store. She was a HHA/NA, worked retail at Kaufmann’s, and did landscaping at Stan Hywet Hall. A couple of her last jobs were at Wilkshire Golf Course and Canal Street Diner. She was also a homemaker.

Margie enjoyed many things like cleaning, sunbathing, flowers of all kinds(real and fake), coffee/cigs (she quit last April). She liked being at home. She was a good cook, and enjoyed cooking until the last few years. She also had a love for dancing. She was very energetic and a hard worker. She loved to watch her big tv. She would watch soap operas, game shows like Price is Right etc, and she watched mysteries/detective shows. She also loved the Golden Girls and other older shows.

She was a sweet soul. Everyone loved her that met her or knew her. She lived very simply and was very generous. She would give regardless of her needs or wants. She was such a good mom and grandma. She will be extremely missed!

Margie has left behind two daughters to cherish her memory: Amy E. Tate-Matthus (Karl Matthus III) of Mineral City and Joy B. McIntosh (Lydell McIntosh) of Massillon. Grandchildren Noah S. Orr (Madi Bailey-Orr), Karley E. Stinard (Devin Stinard),Tyler Matthus (Alec), Kyle Matthus (Jodie), Kaitlyn Holdsworth (Shane), Adrian Dover (Hailey), Ja’Von Dover, Jollissa Tate-Taylor, Passione’ Taylor, Jervez’ Taylor, Nique McIntosh, Lydell Jr McIntosh, Amir McIntosh, and Kam McIntosh. She also had many great grandchildren: Gabriel, Braxton, Onyx, Koha, Princeton, Chloe, Jace, Kali, Westen, Laker, Oaklee, River, Micah, Sihanna, and Ervaeyah, and two more on the way that we were hoping she would meet. She also leaves behind her baby brother, Cam Marsh, along with many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother (Eva Lucille Berry Marsh) and father, Margie was preceded in death by her siblings, Louella, Eddie, Clara, David, Roy, Shirley, and Jimmy. As well as her husbands, Charles H. Tate, and Gary Derrow.

The family would like to thank Aultman Hospital ICU for the compassionate care given and to Crossroads Hospice for the compassion, love and support you showed in this very difficult time.

Margie's care has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. There will be no services, just a private Celebration of Life with immediate family.
