Margery A. Jones, 89, was a beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and cherished member of the Dover community, who passed away on August 7, 2025, at the Park Village Health Care Center in Dover, Ohio. Born on October 9, 1935, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Esther (Coyne) Mathias.

With unwavering commitment, Margery served as a registered nurse for many years, notably working at Union Hospital for 25 years, and she also worked for Dr. Comella for several years before retiring. Her patients and colleagues valued her compassion, professionalism, and dedication to the nursing profession.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover and also attended St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Port Washington.

Margery loved working with her hands. She had a special talent for quilting, crocheting, knitting, tatting, cross-stitching, and counted cross-stitch.

On December 2, 2020, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William K. Jones Sr. Margery was a loving and devoted wife. Their bond was built on deep companionship, mutual respect, and unwavering care. Throughout their life together, Margery was not only William’s partner but also his dedicated caregiver, always putting his needs and well-being first. Her warmth, patience, and steady presence made her an exceptional companion, and her love for William remained steadfast through every season of their long and beautiful marriage.

In addition to her parents and William, she was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Julie Jones.

Margery will be sadly missed by her children: Beth (Greg) Hoffman of Port Washington, and William K. (Brionn) Jones Jr. of Dover; her grandchildren, Benjamin (Amanda) Hoffman, Molly Hoffman Adams, Sarah (Jacob) Thorpe, and William Andrew “Andy” Jones; two great-grandchildren, Caleb Adams and Emilia Thorpe; along with her brother, Charles T. (Mary Jo) Mathias.
