Lola J. Henry, age 57, of Bolivar, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, following a brief illness.
Born March 13, 1966 in Akron, she was a daughter of Janice Cain Wiley of Akron and the late Julius Wiley. Lola graduated from Coventry High School in 1984 where she played softball. She later moved to Tuscarawas County and was employed by Discount Drug Mart in Dover, and then Giant Eagle in Bolivar, from which she retired.
Lola was a loving mother and grandmother who coached her daughter Julie in softball and enjoyed following the activities of her sons Christopher and Wes - including Wes’ playing baseball. Lola was known for her warm smile and kindness; she was very compassionate and often went out of her way to help others.
In addition to her mother, Lola will be dearly missed by her long-time companion, Mike Lantry, of Bolivar; her children, Julie (John Schulte) Henry of Magnolia, James “Wes” Henry of Dover, and Christopher Henry of Roswell; her grandson, David Levengood; her sister and brothers, Barbara (Jerry) Brown, Lowell (Lola’s twin), Ted, Jeff and Dale Wiley; her many nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family; her former husband, James Henry; and her much-loved dog, Skylar.
Honoring Lola’s, wishes she will be cremated. Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Saturday, April 8, 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. A service will follow at 1:30 in the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Bill Eckert of the Bolivar United Methodist Church.
