Lloyd R. Kohr, 90, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026.
Born in Dover, Lloyd was the son of the late Arthur and Laura (Amos) Kohr. He was a 1955 graduate of Strasburg High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years.
Following his military service, Lloyd enjoyed a long career at Reeves Steel, where he worked in repair and maintenance until his retirement in 1997. Outside of his career, he found great satisfaction as a part-time farmer. He especially enjoyed working the land and took great pride in his beloved Allis-Chalmers tractor. Lloyd was a dedicated member of the Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau and faithfully attended Dover Bible Church.
On October 10, 1959, Lloyd married the love of his life, Viola Mae Beitzel Kohr. Together they shared many happy years until her passing on September 8, 2012.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Lloyd was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gary Lee Barkley, and his sister, Carol Lee Ruff.
Lloyd is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Kathy (Ray) Marburger and Karen Barkley; his grandchildren, Amy (James) Davis, Jennifer Barkley, and Amanda Barkley; along with extended family members and many friends who will cherish his memory.
Lloyd will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his quiet and dependable nature, his love of farming, and the pride he took in caring for his family and his land. His faith, service to his country, and commitment to those he loved will leave a lasting legacy for all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held at the Dover Burial Park on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 am with Pastor Mark Britton officiating. The New Philadelphia VFW will Conduct Military honors. A meal will follow at the Dover Bible Church. To sign an online guestbook for Lloyd, visit the obituary link on the funeral home's website.
