Leslie Kay Felker

Leslie Kay Felker, 80, of New Philadelphia peacefully departed this world on Monday, November 6, 2023, surrounded by her family at Schoenbrunn Health Care Center. She was born in Wyoming, Ohio on March 1, 1943 to the late Jim and Margaret Wade. Leslie was also preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Yoe; infant sister and brother, William Wade. 

Leslie led a fulfilling life as a dedicated employee at Wayne-Dalton in Mt. Hope for many years. Her commitment and hard work were evident in her long and successful career there.

Outside of work, Leslie had a passion for singing. One of her proudest accomplishments was being a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she lent her voice to the choir. Leslie's contribution to the church community through her talent and dedication will be remembered fondly.  In addition to her involvement at the church, Leslie actively participated in the Senior Center, where she served as secretary for several years. 

Leslie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories among her surviving family and friends. She was a devoted mother to her children: Kim (Jeff) Smith of Dover, Wendy Flohr, Gregory (Sharon) Felker both of New Philadelphia. Leslie's unconditional love extended to her grandchildren Troy (Tess) Smith, Shay Smith, and Matthew Emery (companion, Stacey Carmany).

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover.  A private memorial service will be held in her honor.

The family would like to thank the nurses, STNA’s and housekeepers at Schoenbrunn Health Care Center, Life Bridge Unit who treated Leslie with love, care and compassion during her stay there.  The family is also appreciative of Community Hospice for making Leslie’s last remaining weeks peaceful.
