Kent Robert Snyder, went to the Lord at the age of 73, passing unexpectedly July 28 while surrounded by family.

Kent was born May 21, 1952, in Dover, Ohio, and was a 1970 graduate of Dover High School and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Capital University.

Kent was a loving husband and father, a proud grandfather of three wonderful grandchildren and a devoted son and brother. Kent and Kathy (Anderson) Snyder were married May 17, 1975, in Columbus, Ohio, and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family, doing two of their favorite activities on a Disney cruise and with a scoreboard message at the Cleveland Guardians.

He served as a youth baseball and softball coach for his kids in Kingston and Shelby and most recently has served as the treasurer for the Springfield Spartan Youth Football and Cheer, supporting his grandchildren and their friends.

Kent was a great traveling companion to his loving wife Kathy on trips to Disney and Myrtle Beach. Kent was a diehard Cleveland sports fan, enjoying attending events with his children and was an avid Shelby Whippet fan.

He is survived by his wife Kathy and children Kevin (Jessica) Snyder, of Akron, Kurt Snyder, of Newark, and Kelly (Glenn) Zdazenski, of Aurora, and grandchildren Avery, Nolan and Brayden.

He also is survived by his mother Reba Snyder, of Dover, and sister Jean (David) Seikel, of New Philadelphia. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Snyder.
