Kay Louise Huff, age 81, passed away on October 24, 2026, at Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar, Ohio. She was born on August 10, 1945, in Franklin, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Clair Ernest and Jessie E. (Hefernan) Davis.
Kay was a 1964 graduate of Cranberry High School. She worked at Camp Aldersgate in Brantingham, New York, for many years, but her primary career was as a restorative nursing aide at Brewster Parke Retirement Home, where she dedicated herself to caring for others.
Kay enjoyed traveling and especially looked forward to weekend getaways, including trips to Niagara Falls. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society and loved going out to eat, exploring new restaurants, and taking Carnival cruises. She also enjoyed visiting Amish Country, particularly the Ashery Country Store. Above all, Kay cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. She loved watching them grow, attending their events, and supporting them in all their activities. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed watching her favorite television show, General Hospital, as well as her beloved Guardians baseball team.
On May 31, 1968, Kay married Jay Huff, who preceded her in death. Together, they shared a loving marriage and built a family that remained a central part of her life. The love they shared on earth has brought them together once more in heaven.
Kay will be dearly missed by her children, Cheryl (Christopher) Klein of Durham, North Carolina; Frank (Barb) Huff of Dover, Ohio; and Jon (Brooke) Huff of Navarre, Ohio; her grandchildren, Andrew (Elaina) Huff, Jaylynn (Alex) Huff, Jocelyn (Jacob) Huff, Trenton Huff, Carly (Jake) Boggs, Aryah Ramey, and Nora Kay Huff; and her great-grandchildren, Poppy Christmas, Ivy Boggs, and Lila Boggs. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Linda Davis and Ileen Davis, as well as her lifelong friends, Mary Ann Klinger and Nancy and Charlie Hall.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Kay was preceded in death by her sisters, Janice Switzer and Shirley McLaughlin, and her brothers, Clair “Gene” Davis, Tom Davis, and Richard “Dick” Davis.
A memorial service will be held at St. John United Church of Christ in Strasburg on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., with Pastor Jason Rissler officiating. The family will welcome callers from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. before the service takes place. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date, where Kay will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
