Kathleen Clare Phillips, age 69, of Dover, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at University of Louisville Hospital. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 16, 1955, Kathy was the daughter of the late Martin & Marie (Vitello) Phillips. She was a graduate of Stow-Munroe Falls High School in 1973, Kent State University in 1977 and achieved her masters degree in education in 1989.
Kathy taught at Garaway, Dover & Strasburg School Districts. Her work as a speech pathologist touched thousands of students lives in Tuscarawas county. Kathy was a folk music director as a member of St. Joseph Church at Dover for over 35 years. She enjoyed her family's sporting events, vacationing at Port Clinton, lunches with friends and volunteering at the Age of Steam in Sugarcreek.
Surviving are brothers Martin (Nancy) Phillips of Willoughby and John (Sharon) Phillips of Tallmadge, sisters Sue (Rick) Clark of Munroe Falls, Therese Leslein of Walton Hills and numerous nieces & nephews throughout Summit & Stark counties.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and sister Mary Lou (Rick) Rinella.
The family will greet guests at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover, Ohio on Wednesday, May 14th at 9:30 to 11:00 am. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., in St. Joseph Catholic Church; Fr. Jimmy Hatfield will officiate.
